Buckingham Town vs New Bradwell
Bob Hutt writes:
Town 1sts had a sparkling win over New Bradwell in their sunday
league match by 70 runs. A good all round team performance was
evident in the batting, bowling and fielding. Town batted first
and made a solid start through Leigh Tomlinson(33) and Mike
Taylor(15). After losing a few wickets solid batting from Anant
Peshavaria(41) and Kevin D'Silva(29) improved matters and then at
the end some fireworks from Ben Stafford who hit a very rapid 49
not out.
New Bradwell made a good solid reply through Andy Overturn(45) but
Town's slow bowlers were soon on top. Chris Coates bowled superbly
taking 6-43 and he received good support from Graham Judd, 1-14
from 7 overs, and Leigh Tomlinson, Chris Horsler and skipper Chris
Wigan took 2-6.
Towns fielding was superb also with fine catches by Peshavaria, and
Stafford with one oustanding catch from Leigh Tomlinson diving in
the deep.
Alex O'Dell kept wicket well and took a smart catch. All in all
an impressive team effort under skipper Chris Wigan.
