Buckingham Town Cricket Club - May 31st 2010
BTCC President's Day
Bob Hutt writes:
Buckingham beat the President's XI in an exciting match in their
Bank Holiday match sponsored by Performance Podiatry.
President Graham Fryer's side lost the toss and Buckingham batted
first scoring a useful 247-9. Jonny Cater batted well for
53(retired) after openers Graham Judd(47) and Jamges Gear(39) made
a good start to the innings.
Useful runs came from Jason Ell(30) who was superby caught by
Sabin and Ben Stafford(19). For Graham's side Paul Sly and
Richard Tredwell took 3 wickets each.
The Presidents XI made a good start through L. Sabin(34) and Anant
Peshavaria(18) but an exciting finish was achieved thanks to Gary
Fryer, Graham's son, who scored a fine 111 before being bowled by
Ell. Matt Dipple(21) batted well but bowlers Ell and Judd saw
Town home in other last over by just 5 runs.
Thanks to Graham, his wife Margaret, and daughters Dawn and Andrea
for the excellent refreshments and thanks also to Andy for his
work on the ground and to Bev, Susie and Jo behind the bar.
