A confident Didcot 2nds XI won the toss and batted but Buckingham 3rds produced their best display for many seasons. Opening bowlers Stuart Helps and Frank Johnson backed up by superb fielding soon took control of the game. Didcot were reduced to 13-5 and then Chris Coates and Harry Martin maintained the pressure as Didcot were bowled out for 52 in just 28 overs.

Frank Johnson in particular bowled with excellent accuracy with 3-3 from eight overs including six maidens. Skipper Helps bowled unchanged to take 3-26 from 14 overs and Chris Coates 3-21 and Harry Martin 1-2 added to Didcot's woes. Adrian Johnson and Chris Coates both took excellent catches and Alex O'Dell had a splendid day behind the stumps also taking two catches.

In reply Town batted sensibly with Adrian Johnson(21)Chris Wigan 20 not out and Nigel Norman took the sting out of the Didcot bowling with a solid contribution. An excellent win by the 3rds and 25 maximum points.
